Year-Round Roadway Dining is Now Legal With a Year-Round License
New York City Council passed legislation allowing year-round roadway dining and changed the closing hour for all cafes to 11 p.m. each night.
Applications are now open. New applicants can choose a year-round license with higher fees. Existing participants may upgrade their existing license or application by paying an additional fee.

Roadway Cafes
- Accessible, lighter, open-air cafes that extend the restaurant's look and feel out to the street
- Cafes will be easy to move, clean, set up, and break down
- Allowed April through November (eight-month season)
